Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms are provided for your use, and for all airport visitors and staff - of all faiths and none, for quiet contemplation and prayer.
Four Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms serve the whole airport and are open to everyone 24 hours a day.
They provide an opportunity for peace and quiet, meditation, private prayer.
There are religious books for many faiths and prayer mats are available.
Multi-Faith Prayer Rooms are also available for services for visiting and pilgrimage groups. (Please contact the chaplains on 0161489 2838 for further details).
Please respect the needs of others who may wish to use the Multi-Faith Prayer Room:
Do not sleep, eat or use mobile phones in the room. (Airport Police have been asked to enforce this.)
Do not move furniture without specific permission from a member of the Chaplaincy Team.
Replace all books, prayer mats, other materials, equipment and furniture tidily where you found them.
A book for your prayer requests and comments is provided in each of the multi-Faith Prayer Rooms. Please be respectful of what others have written.
Books are provided by the Chaplaincy. Any unauthorised literature which is left in this room will be removed.
Timetables for Islamic prayers are provided with correct times for Manchester.
The Qibla (direction for Islamic prayers) is set correctly under the authority of the Airport’s Islamic Chaplain. If you have reason to doubt its accuracy, do not move or deface the sign, but contact a member of the Chaplaincy Team.
Christian Daily Prayers are said in Terminal 1 Multi-Faith Prayer Room
Monday – Friday at 08.30 (excluding bank holidays)
A Christian Service of Holy Communion is celebrated in Terminal 1 Multi-Faith Prayer Room
on the first Thursday of every month at 13.00 hrs and at other times as advertised.
Islamic Friday (Jummah) Prayers are held in the Terminal 3 Multi-Faith Prayer Room
at 13.00 GMT winter, 1330 BST summer.
